Posted 9 August 2017

ALTRAC Light Rail is continuing various work in Kensington.

Out of hours Light Rail utilities relocation work is scheduled to take place on the eastern footpath of Anzac Parade between the University Mall pedestrian crossing and High Street, Kensington.

The pedestrian footpath will be temporarily closed between 6pm and 5am on Sunday 13 August, then 8pm until 5am every night until Sunday 24 September

Pedestrians will be diverted to the Anzac Parade western side pedestrian footpath via the University Mall or High Street signalised pedestrian crossings. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct pedestrians safely around the operations.

This detour will be in place at night only and pedestrian access will be maintained on the eastern side of the footpath during the day.

Activities include saw trenching, cutting, excavation, concrete work, drainage work, utility relocations, pot holing, back filling, traffic control, traffic signals and signage.

ALTRAC will ensure that all possible mitigation measures such as noise blankets will be used to minimise impacts as much as possible.
