CBD and South East Light Rail

As UNSW has grown, so has our need for a public transport system that can meet our growing requirements. A high-capacity mass transport solution is vital to alleviate current transport issues, improve accessibility and make sure UNSW can continue to attract students and staff of the highest potential, irrespective of background and location. 

The CBD and South East Light Rail will provide sustainable and reliable modern transport from the CBD to Sydney's South East that will meet the needs of our community. Construction is now under way, with the Light Rail expected to commence operations in 2020.

Daytime tram testing ahead of opening in December

Timetable released for tram testing and driver training to now take place along the alignment from Randwick to Circular Quay during daytime ahead of first passenger services in December 2019. 

The NIDA-Anzac Parade northbound bus stop to reopen this Saturday

Buses will stop in front of UNSW Western Campus from 5am this Saturday 17 August going in the direction of Central and the CBD.

Watch out near the tram alignments from Randwick to Circular Quay - ALTRAC Light Rail is now undertaking tram testing ahead of the first passenger services in December 2019.
