Tigger's Nursery Garden Reopened!

Posted 4 July 2017

After 10 months of remediation work for the light rail, the Tigger’s Honeypot Childcare Centre play garden has been restored and given an exciting upgrade.

The garden was officially opened on 23 June by MP Bruce Notley-Smith, attended by UNSW Vice Chancellor Ian Jacobs and other UNSW staff.

The children of Tigger’s are excited to have access to the renewed, beautiful space. This includes a fire pit, rock garden, creek bed, new trees and a new chicken coop for the children’s feathered friends.

The works have also provided a viewing panel onto the light rail on High Street, providing a front-row seat to the development and operation of the multi-billion-dollar project.

Tigger’s is a highly acclaimed early childhood education and care centre owned and operated by UNSW and with strong ties to the  local community. It is great to see its green space restored and updated, and no doubt the students (and chickens) are just as excited about it as us!
