Light Rail work around Gate 9

Light Rail telecommunications trenching works on UNSW property and on the public footpath near the entrance of Gate 9 High Street are commencing from Thursday 10 August 2017.

The works are occurring in stages as outlined below.

Please note, the Light Rail project team has advised these dates are subject to change – depending on various factors such as weather conditions, existing ground conditions, existing services in the ground and type/amount of tree roots that may be encountered during the works. 


Stage 1A: Thursday 10 August to Friday 18 August 2017

8pm – 5am (night works)

  • Pedestrian detour at night around works on footpath outside UNSW.
  • Walkway entrance at front of UNSW will be occupied at night.
  • Works will create vibrations close to the Lowy Building.
  • Conditions will be re-instated each day.

 

Stage 1B: Sunday 20 August to Monday 21 August 2017

8pm – 5am (night works)

  • Normal driveway access at Gate 9 will be diverted to the walkway entrance during the works at night. This entrance will be shared with pedestrians and traffic control will be in place.
  • Works will create vibrations close to the Lowy Building.
  • Conditions will be re-instated each day.

 

Stage 2: Tuesday 22 August to Wednesday 6 September 2017 (day works)

  • The pedestrian path along the front of the Lowy Building (parallel to High St) will be closed.
  • Pedestrians will have access to Gate 9 via the public footpath on High St.
  • Works will create vibrations close to the Lowy Building.

 

Stage 3: Thursday 7 September to Friday 15 September 2017 (day works)

  • Access to area in front of the Wallace Wurth Building along High St will be restricted during works.
  • Pedestrians will have access to Gate 9 via the public footpath on High St.
  • Works will create vibrations close to the Wallace Wurth Building.
