Light Rail Testing Work from 7 February to 7 March 2019

The light rail project is progressing into testing and commissioning work between Anzac Pde and High St. This testing ensures that the overhead wire system works correctly and that all signals and communications are functioning correctly.  The light rail vehicles will be tested within the Randwick Stabling Yard and along tracks from Anzac Parade at Lang Road to Randwick Terminus on High Street.

When is this happening?

  • Standard work hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 5pm.
  • Night work will normally take place between 6pm and 5am Sunday to Thursday and will only occur on Friday and Saturday nights when required.
  • The testing work is scheduled between 7 February and 7 March 2019. 

How does this affect me?

  • You may experience some noise and vibration during this work.
  • Temporary lane closures along Alison Road and High Street and pedestrian detours may be in place during these activities.
  • Where required, traffic control will be in place to safely direct motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
