Intersection works at Day Avenue and Anzac Parade

ALTRAC Light Rail will continue work at the intersection of Anzac Parade and Day Avenue from 24 March 2017.

Work will be continuous from 8pm, Friday 24 March to 5am, Friday 14 April 2017.
Changed Traffic Conditions
From 8pm on Friday 24 March, the following changes will be in place during the work (see map):
  • The left turn from Anzac Parade into Day Avenue will be prohibited. Vehicles will be detoured via Barker Street and Houston Road.
  • The right turn from Anzac Parade into Day Avenue will remain closed until 28 April. Vehicles will be detoured along Anzac Parade to Barker Street to continue their journey west.
  • The left and right turns from Day Avenue into Anzac Parade will be prohibited. Vehicles will be detoured via Houston Road and Barker Street.
Two traffic lanes will be maintained in each direction on Anzac Parade during day time hours. Additional lane closures may be in place at night. Construction speed limits may apply.
During the work cyclists will continue to travel along Anzac Parade with other traffic. Cyclists will be required to dismount at the end of the on-road cycleway at Day Avenue to merge into the general traffic detour.
Public Transport Changes
From 10pm on Friday 24 March to 5am Friday 14 April, the following bus changes will be in place:
  • Bus stops on each side of Day Avenue near Anzac Parade will be temporarily closed.
  • The closest citybound stop will be Day Avenue near Mooramie Avenue, approximately 250m walk.
  • The closest outbound stop will be Houston Road near Day Avenue, approximately 80m walk.

Other impacts
You may experience some noise and vibration during this work. Efforts will be made to schedule the noisiest work during the daytime and evening.
